Testosterone: What Has That Got To Do With Me?

Testosterone Levels In Men: What is It Good For?

The body’s production of testosterone assist in the areas of muscle growth, healthy bones, fertility, replenishing red blood cells, and even your mood and sex drive, (Libido). A common area of concern is low testosterone levels in men. While age plays a major part in the low levels in men, (levels decrease about 1 percent each year from their 20’s), other factors could because for concern including, obesity, diabetes, poor eating habits, drugs and alcohol.

Typically, men in their 50s and older, will generally see low testosterone levels. Be aware of some more common symptoms, including decreased sex drive, decreased energy, weight gain, (mostly fat), depression, decreased muscle mass, not being able to clearly focus, loss of body hair, and men breast, to name a few. The measurement of normal testosterone levels is 300 ng/dL- 1,100ng/dL. Constantly being below 300 ng/dL signifies that low testosterone is present and maybe you should seek the advice of your doctors if this is affecting your health and lifestyle.

Weight loss around the mid-section, exercise, and better eating habits has been known to improve one’s testosterone levels.

I am personally on these so-called testosterone boosters, but the vote is still out for the time being. I’ve implemented this with exercise and strict eating habits for the time being.
